Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania - FAST-CAT, a software development company that provides cutting edge solutions for the A/E/C (Architectural/Engineering/Construction) industry, today announced that it is changing its name to FASTTAC. The name change, effective immediately, will not have any impact on the company's organizational structure or day-to-day operations.
"Our focus on providing real time collaboration tools and significant cost saving software for the A/E/C industry caused us to want to change our name to more accurately reflect our product,"said Ray Steeb, President and CEO of FASTTAC. "As FASTTAC, we remain committed to our goal of developing and meeting the technology needs of the A/E/C industry, an often underserved market segment. We look forward to further developing our technology to better improve real time collaboration between the building team, reduce mistakes by trade workers and saving our users money and time."
FASTTAC's first software deployment, the FAST Document Control and Mobility System or FAST DCMS, provides a document and drawing control system to its users that permits the general contractor, subcontractors and material suppliers to work from the exact same set of drawings and specifications in real time throughout a project's duration. "It's like everyone working on the same set of drawings in the superintendent's field office," said Steeb. Since its founding in 2005, the company has remained focused on developing software tools for the A/E/C industry. The company's ownership is also not affected by the name change.
About FASTTAC: A Southwestern Pennsylvania-based software company, FASTTAC, in conjunction with Carnegie Mellon, is the developer of the FAST Document Control and Mobility Systems (DCMS) which provides a cutting edge solution for construction drawing and document sharing, annotation and communication. FAST DCMS synchronizes information among the project's team to support capturing, managing, and sharing information, emails and faxes, ultimately improving productivity, cutting costs and reducing document confusion and its intrinsic related risk. FAST DCMS is currently being used by contractors and building teams on projects from coast to coast in the United States. For more information, go to www.fasttac.com.
